Ordinary Prepper is a calm research-desk review site for everyday home readiness — backup power, water storage, and food storage. We launched in October 2026 to help ordinary households get ready for outages and other everyday disruptions, without the hype.
How we review
We work as a research desk, not a test lab. That means:
- We use published specifications and warranty information from the maker.
- We check current prices when we write or update a guide.
- We read aggregated verified owner feedback and look for patterns that show up again and again.
- We score products out of 100 using a published scoring guide. Commissions never change a score, and we do not sell paid placements.

What we publish
We publish home-readiness comparison guides and calculators for backup power, water storage, and food storage. We publish 8 posts a week — 2 posts each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. We currently have 4 published posts, and that number grows every week.
Who reads us
Our readers are in the United States — ordinary households getting ready for outages. They are homeowners and renters who want clear, honest comparisons before they spend money on power, water, or food storage for their home.
About our traffic
We’re new (launched October 2026) and growing — early traffic is small and organic. We’ll share current numbers on request.
